  • VIZ (Visual Inspection Zone) contains various data about the document holder and the document in a non-standardized format.
  • MRZ (Machine-Readable Zone) is a standardized data format on ID documents and passports, containing personal and document-related data.
  • CAN (Card Access Number) is used as a security feature for electronic authentication, e.g. when using the online identification function (eID).
